It’s been an emotional past two days all around the world. Hearing about Paris really evoked a lot of sadness and pain in me. If you are in France, have family or friends that were affected, or are just a concerned individual for our world, I hope you are doing well. It’s tragedies like this that remind me how fragile we are. We need comfort in a time like this; we need to come together to bring peace to Paris and the other countries affected by terrorism.
If you are wanting to help Paris, TIME listed some great resources to donate money or other things, such as blood, if you are in the area. As we mourn as united nations, please take the time to hold your loved ones dear and smile at the small things in life. I hate having to open my blog in this way this week, but unfortunately senseless violence still happens in the world. It’s important for us to remember that terrorism is not a religion. Yes, these acts are almost always done in the name of religion. But do not persecute individuals because they identify with a certain religion. There are extremists to ANY ideology – this does not mean, in any way, that all practitioners are violent. It is when we assume and don’t take the time to understand that hatred and prejudices bubbles up. We need love right now, not hate.
Paris, I’ve never seen you in person (although you are definitely high on my travel list), but our thoughts, prayers, meditations and hopes are all with you today and always. You are not alone and we love you. #peaceforparis
Today on the blog I am bringing you the promised yoga for back pain video! I had a blast filming this video. My husband and I shot this in my parent’s lovely backyard, which is only fitting since I wrote this sequence with my Dad in mind. You’ll need a block for modifications for this short 15 minutes sequence but can still practice without it. If you have one handy, grab a bolster or a yoga blanket, too. Let me know what you think and remember to subscribe to my YouTube channel so you’ll always be up to date on any videos I post. Enjoy. 🙂
What yoga sequence do you like to practice when your back is sore?
Happy OM’ing and namaste. ❤
